Key to Jan’s function is the development and execution of lending solutions for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in corporate value chains. He has overseen the disbursement of billions of Rands to SMEs that did not qualify for commercial lending. Jan’s career in banking spans over 24 years and he has held various positions in corporate, business, and retail banking.
His insights and expertise in SME development have been sought by the international community. He has positioned SME development initiatives with multi-national corporates and business schools in the United States and Europe.
Jan holds an MBA from the Henley Business School in the United Kingdom, a B Comm (Hons) from the University of South Africa and a B Comm from the University of Stellenbosch. He has also successfully concluded management development programmes through Duke University and GIBS.
