Dumi K. Jere, ACA
Better known among his peers as “DJ”, Malawian born, Zimbabwean raised, South African educated, Africa loving; Dumi Jere is the CEO of AfriCatalysts, a pan African strategy, research, and market intelligence consultancy in African Emerging Markets; and Deputy Chairman of AHG Global, a Mauritius domiciled diversified investment holdings firm.
Based in Johannesburg, Dumi serves governments, multinational organizations, and private-sector institutions across Africa on issues of economic development, public policy, risk analysis, growth strategies, all-inclusive transformations, and investment decisions. He has worked across more than 24 African countries thus far.
Under his leadership, the firm has established offices in Johannesburg, Harare, Blantyre, and Kigali as it expands its footprint across Africa to better serve more clients across Sub Saharan Africa. He is involved in extensive charity work aimed at uplifting African communities and to that end, he supports LIV Village, a home for parentless children in KwaZulu Natal, South Africa. He also serves as a board member of a non-profit organisation in Malawi, which extends water access to rural communities.
An Associate Chartered Accountant turned entrepreneur, Dumi holds a BSc (Hons) in Applied Accounting from Monash University. With extensive experience and exposure to the African continent, Dumi is regularly featured in various media such as BBC Africa (where he is an Africa Biz Expert) CNN, CNBC, Bloomberg, Economist, Financial Times, and Wall Street Journal among others.
