Dr. Newton Demba FCILT, CIPP

Newton Demba is a Procurement and Supply Management Consultant with him more than 16 years of experience managing complex and high-value humanitarian, public health, mining operations, and commercial projects. Newton is a highly ambitious and resourceful procurement and supply management specialist, with special experience in international sourcing and procurement, integrated supply chains, contracts management, inventory management, Logistics and transport administration, quality assurance in public health chains, audits, institutional procurement capacity assessments, value for money assessments, supply chain risk assessments, training, and development. He has handled procurement portfolios in the manufacturing, telecommunications, mining, and International development field specifically in public health. He has experience with the United Nations system (UN), United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and Department for International Development (DFID), having worked directly with UNDP, and in USAID and DFID sponsored projects in the public health. Newton has gathered invaluable knowledge and experience in public tender processes, materials management, stock control, ERPs, relationship management, greenfield setting up of procurement departments, policy reviews, writing of supply related manuals and SOPs, supply chain configurations, warehouse designs, transport and distribution of various types of cargo, including cold chain, demand and supply matching, global pipeline management, strategic supply risk, project design, negotiation, implementation, supervision, monitoring, and evaluation.

He holds a Doctorate degree in Business Management with a major in Strategic Management, Master of Science degree in Strategic Management, Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Sociology, Postgraduate Diploma in Procurement and Contracts Management, Advanced International Diploma in Logistics and Transport (CILT, UK) an International Diploma in Logistics and Transport (CILT, UK), and currently studying for MLL in Procurement Law, Governance and Practise, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Global Health Procurement & Supply Chain Management.

Newton is a Certified International Procurement Professional (CIPP), a Chartered Fellow Member(FCILT) with the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport International, A certified lean Six Sigma Green Belt Practitioner, A member with International Association for Contracts and Commercial Management (IACC), Member of the International Academy of Business and Financial Management, Member with Association of Certified Procurement & Operations Professionals and an affiliate member with Chartered Institute of   Purchasing and Supply Africa.
