Deon Basson has been in the human communication business for 19 years, operating primarily in Europe and Africa, as well as North America. Deon has a great understanding of the affect that communication has on effective procurement and effective sales. Deon completed an MBA specialising in the alignment of business and people. His experience on both the procurement side and sales side of the “fence” gives him insight into creating an optimum environment for communication in procurement.
Deon is a supporter of the importance of the ‘human element’ in any procurement, sale or negotiation. He focuses on understanding the different role players (including their communication profiles, cultures, etc.) and uses this to define strategies and tactics. His experience in strategic business negotiations is the main driver behind his interest in the human element.
